Neuromodulators (Botox / Dysport) in Montreal: the complete guide to treatments and prices

Wrinkle-relaxing injections are the most requested treatment in medical aesthetics, and the one that raises the most questions. This guide brings the essentials together: what neuromodulators (Botox / Dysport) do, the areas treated, prices, timing, safety, and the right questions to ask a clinic.

What is a neuromodulator?

Neuromodulators are botulinum toxin type A, a prescription drug approved by Health Canada. Injected in very small amounts, they temporarily relax specific muscles. Less contraction means softer expression lines.

They don't add volume: that's what fillers do. To understand the difference, read neuromodulators, biostimulators and fillers, where we also explain why clinics avoid brand names.

The most treated areas

  • Forehead: the horizontal lines that appear when you raise your eyebrows.
  • Glabella (frown lines): the vertical lines between the brows.
  • Crow's feet: the creases at the corners of the eyes when you smile.
  • Brow lift: a few well-placed units to gently lift the tail of the brow. See our brow lift guide.
  • Lip flip and gummy smile: a small dose for the upper lip. See our lip flip article.
  • Masseters: for teeth grinding and a slimmer jaw. See how long masseter neuromodulators last.
  • Underarms: for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), by consultation.

Microdosing ("baby" neuromodulators): a very natural effect

The term simply describes an approach: smaller doses, placed precisely, to soften lines without freezing expression. It's often a good starting point for a first time or for prevention. The effect may last a little less than a full dose.

How much does it cost in Montreal?

At Clinique Éclat Aven, neuromodulators are priced per unit, at the same price at all four clinics:

  • Regular price: $12 per unit, 20-unit minimum ($240)
  • Black Friday: $10 per unit from 25 units, on any purchase made from November 22 to 29, 2026
  • Lip flip or gummy smile: $150
  • Masseters: flat price of $800

Examples at the regular price: frown lines only (20 units) $240; forehead and frown lines (35 units) $420; forehead, frown lines and crow's feet (50 units) $600. These are guides, not quotes. Every detail, area by area, is in our article on neuromodulator (Botox / Dysport) prices in Montreal and Boisbriand.

How fast does it work, and how long does it last?

  • First effects: usually after 2 to 5 days
  • Full effect: around 10 to 14 days
  • Duration: usually 3 to 4 months, longer for masseters

Timing varies with the area, the dose and your metabolism. We cover it all in how long before you see the effect.

Who can inject, and is it safe?

Neuromodulators are prescription drugs: they must be injected by an authorized professional, after an assessment. At Clinique Éclat Aven, injections are done by nurses trained in medical aesthetics.

Treatment isn't recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding, with certain neuromuscular conditions, with an infection in the area, or with certain medications. We check all of this with you before starting.

The most common side effects are mild and temporary: small redness or bumps at the injection points for a few minutes, sometimes a bruise or a mild headache. More rarely, an eyelid or brow can droop slightly for a few weeks; that's one reason the injector's experience and the follow-up matter.

How to choose a clinic in Montreal

Rather than searching for "the best clinic", ask these questions:

  • Who does the injection? An authorized professional, trained in medical aesthetics.
  • Is there a medical assessment? History, medications, pregnancy, goals.
  • Is the price transparent? Per unit, with the planned number of units before you start.
  • Is the product approved in Canada? You can always ask to see the label.
  • Is a follow-up planned? An appointment around two weeks lets us adjust if needed.
  • Have they ever said no to you? A good clinic sometimes declines. We explain why in why we don't always say yes.

What happens at the appointment

1. Consultation: your goals, your history, an exam of your expressions.
2. Plan and price: areas, number of units and cost, before any injection.
3. Treatment: about fifteen minutes, with very fine needles.
4. After: avoid lying down for a few hours and intense exercise for 24 hours. See what not to do after your treatments.
5. Follow-up: around two weeks, if needed.
