In Quebec, before you receive certain injectable treatments, you must first see a physician. At Clinique Éclat Aven, this medical consultation with a physician costs $100 and stays valid for 2 years. Here's what you need to know, simply.

Which treatments require it?

The medical consultation with a physician is required before you receive:

• Neuromodulators (Botox / Dysport): wrinkle-relaxing injections for the forehead, frown lines, crow's feet, masseters and more.
• Dermal fillers: lips, cheeks, jawline, chin, under-eyes, folds.
• Biostimulator (Sculptra): to stimulate your own collagen.
• Lipolysis: fat-dissolving injections, for example under the chin.

One consultation covers all four treatments. You don't have to pay for one per treatment.

Valid for 2 years

Once done, your medical consultation is valid for 2 years. During that time, you can receive neuromodulators (Botox / Dysport), dermal fillers, the biostimulator (Sculptra) or lipolysis without paying for another consultation. After 2 years, a new physician consultation is required.

What about the free consultation with the nurse?

It's still offered, and it's still free for all our treatments. We listen to your goals, examine your skin and expressions and propose a clear plan, with the price, before any treatment. For skin and body treatments, that's all you need to get started. For the four injectable treatments above, the physician consultation is added.

How the appointment works

1. Before: you fill out your health questionnaire. Bring a list of your medications and, if needed, any relevant documents.
2. During: the physician reviews your health history, medications and allergies, examines the areas to be treated, makes sure the treatment is right for you and answers your questions.
3. After: if the treatment is right for you, our team can perform it, and your consultation stays valid for 2 years for your next appointments. If not, we'll point you to the right resource.

What the consultation doesn't commit you to

No consultation, free or paid, commits you to receiving a treatment. You leave with information, at your own pace. And if a treatment isn't right for you, we'll tell you: that's what we explain in why we don't always say yes.
