What not to do after your treatments

The work doesn't stop when you leave the clinic. The first hours and days matter a lot for your result. Here are the mistakes we see most often, treatment by treatment. Your personal aftercare instructions always come first.

After wrinkle injections (neuromodulators)

  • Don't lie down for the next 4 hours.
  • Don't rub or massage the treated area, and skip facials or massages for a few days.
  • No intense workouts, sauna or hot tub for 24 hours.
  • Don't judge the result too soon: full effect takes about two weeks. That's when touch-ups are done.

After filler (lips, jaw, cheeks)

  • Avoid heat (sauna, hot tub, very hot baths) and intense workouts for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Limit alcohol for 24 hours: it increases swelling and bruising.
  • Don't massage the area unless you were told to.
  • Avoid dental work and prolonged pressure on the area for about two weeks.
  • Don't panic about swelling: it's normal the first few days, especially in the lips.

After Morpheus8, microneedling or a peel

  • No makeup for 24 hours while the skin closes.
  • Pause your active products (retinol, acids, exfoliants) for a few days.
  • Don't pick or peel flaking skin: let it come off on its own.
  • Avoid the sun and wear sunscreen every day. Your skin is more sensitive for a few weeks.
  • No pool, sauna or hot tub for 48 to 72 hours.

After PRP for hair

  • Wait until the next day to wash your hair, unless told otherwise.
  • Avoid hair dye and chemical treatments for a few days.
  • No intense workouts the same day.

After sclerotherapy

  • Wear your compression stockings as instructed.
  • Walk! Walking is encouraged, but avoid strenuous exercise, hot baths and direct sun on treated areas for a few days.

When to call the clinic right away

Most reactions are mild and temporary. But some signs need immediate attention, especially after filler:

  • Severe pain that gets worse instead of better
  • Skin that turns white, grey, bluish or blotchy near the injected area
  • Changes in vision, weakness, or trouble swallowing or breathing
  • Signs of infection: spreading redness, warmth, pus or fever

In these cases, call us right away at 438 449-2380. If you can't reach us or symptoms are severe, go to the emergency room or call 911.

Question after your treatment? Message or call us: we'd always rather get one question too many. For your next appointment, book a consultation.
