A fine needle delivers a solution into small visible veins. The vein wall closes and the body gradually reabsorbs it, so the vein fades over the following weeks.

Most people need a few sessions spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart. Compression stockings are usually worn for a short time after each session. Larger varicose veins may need a medical assessment first.
