Neuromodulators (Botox / Dysport) before the holidays: when to book your injections
Written by Douae Elle · October 26, 2026

The office party, Christmas Eve, family photos, December 31: December is the month everyone wants to look rested. Neuromodulators (Botox / Dysport) are perfect for that, on one condition: timing them right. Too late, and the effect won't have settled in yet. Here's the timeline we recommend to our patients in Montreal, Boisbriand, Trois-Rivières and Beauharnois.
Why timing matters so much
Neuromodulators don't work overnight:
- Days 3 to 5: the first effects appear.
- Days 10 to 14: the full effect is reached.
- Day 14: time for the follow-up appointment, if a small touch-up is needed.
In other words, plan at least two weeks between the injection and the event, and ideally three to leave time for a touch-up. All the details are in our article on how long neuromodulators take to work.
The 2026 holiday timeline
- For an office party in early December: book in November, ideally before November 20.
- For Christmas (December 24 and 25): injections by around December 8 at the latest.
- For New Year's: injections by around December 15 at the latest.
- For family photos or a sun trip in January: December, before the holiday rush.
December appointments go fast. If you have a specific date, book online now.

Which areas for a rested look in photos?
- Forehead and frown lines: for a more relaxed face, even under party lighting.
- Crow's feet: they show a lot when you smile in photos.
- Brow lift: a few units to open up the eyes. See our brow lift guide.
- Lip flip: for a slightly fuller smile.
We favour doses that keep your expressions: we want you to look like yourself, just more rested, not frozen in the family photos.
Aftercare rules… in the middle of party season
- No alcohol for 24 hours after your injections: book your appointment well away from a party.
- No intense workouts, sauna or spa for 24 hours.
- Don't lie down for 4 hours and don't massage the treated areas.

Combining with other treatments
For an all-over glow, we often combine neuromodulators with a skin treatment: a peel 2 to 3 weeks before, or VAMP or skin boosters 3 to 4 weeks before. If you're also thinking about filler, plan it at least two weeks before the event so any swelling and small bruises can fade. Our full timeline is in our article on the 2026 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
Prices
- Neuromodulators (Botox / Dysport): $12 per unit, 20-unit minimum
- Lip flip: $150
- Forehead and frown lines (about 35 units): about $420
For first-time injectable patients, a $100 consultation with a physician is required, and it's valid for 2 years. Build it into your timeline.

FAQ
Is it too late if my party is in 10 days?
The effect will be well underway, but maybe not complete. It can still be worth it for a more rested look; we'll tell you honestly in consultation.
I'll be drinking at the party. Is that a problem?
No, as long as your injections were done more than 24 hours before.
How long does it last?
Usually 3 to 4 months. An injection in early December will carry you into March.
