Hair restoration: PRP, PRF or scalp microneedling?
Written by Douae Elle · September 30, 2026

When hair starts thinning, there's no single miracle fix. There are several tools, and the right plan depends on the cause of your hair loss and your goals. Here are the three options we use most. (And first of all, we check the cause: read why we do bloodwork first.)
1. PRP for hair
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) uses a concentrated portion of your own blood, rich in platelets and growth factors. It's injected into the scalp to help stimulate follicles, support healthier growth and improve density over time.

2. PRF for hair
PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is a next-generation regenerative therapy. Along with platelets it contains white blood cells and fibrin, allowing a more gradual release of growth factors. It's an excellent option for people looking for a natural approach. See our PRF page.

3. Scalp microneedling
Microneedling creates tiny micro-channels in the scalp that trigger the body's natural healing response. It also improves absorption of growth factors and topical products, making it an excellent add-on to PRP or PRF.

Why combine
In many cases, the best results come from combining treatments: for example, microneedling followed by PRP or PRF in the same session. By looking at hair loss from every angle (the cause, the type of loss, your history), we can build a plan that truly fits you.
What to expect
- A series: usually 3 or 4 sessions 4 to 6 weeks apart, then maintenance.
- Gradual results: less shedding first, then more density after 3 to 6 months.
- Little downtime: the scalp may feel tender for a day or two.
