How many vials of Sculptra do you need?

There is no single number: the number of vials is determined during your assessment by the nurse. It depends in particular on:

  • The volume loss to correct (temples, cheeks, jawline)
  • The quality and firmness of your skin
  • Your age and facial structure
  • Your goals: a subtle refresh or a more noticeable restoration

As a guide, a session often uses 1 or 2 vials, and a complete plan usually includes 2 to 3 sessions. Your plan may therefore be smaller or larger depending on your face. For example, a 3-vial plan comes to $2,550 at the regular price During Black Friday, those 3 vials at $2,549 come with a 4th vial free. This calculation is only an example: your actual plan and its cost are confirmed at your assessment.

How many sessions?

Most often, 2 or 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Sculptra works by stimulating your own collagen: the result is built in stages rather than injected all at once. This gradual approach gives a natural result and allows the plan to be adjusted from one session to the next.

How does Sculptra work?

Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible and resorbable substance. Injected deep, it gradually stimulates the production of collagen. The product is resorbed; the collagen your body has made stays. That is why it is called a biostimulator. For more details, visit our Sculptra page.

When do you see results?

  • Right after the session: swelling may look like an immediate result, but it disappears within a few days. This is normal.
  • After 4 to 6 weeks: collagen starts to form; this is often when the next session takes place.
  • After 2 to 3 months: the result becomes more visible and keeps improving.
  • Duration: the result can last up to about 2 years, depending on the person.

After each session, you will be asked to massage the area for a few days, often following the "5-5-5" rule (5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days). Swelling or bruising is possible for a few days. Results vary from person to person and cannot be guaranteed.

Sculptra or dermal filler: what is the difference?

  • Sculptra stimulates your collagen. The result is gradual, builds over months and targets overall firmness and volume.
  • Hyaluronic acid filler adds volume to a precise spot. The result is immediate and ideal for defining a contour, such as the lips, chin or jawline.

The two are not mutually exclusive: Sculptra builds the foundation, then a dermal filler can refine a detail. For reference, our fillers are $325 for half a syringe and $600 for a syringe. Sculptra is not injected into the lips or around the eyes.

Who is it for?

  • Overall volume loss in the temples, cheeks or along the jawline
  • Skin that is sagging and lacks firmness
  • People who want a natural result, without a sudden change

Certain conditions, such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, an active infection or certain medical conditions, may prevent treatment. The nurse confirms your eligibility during the medical assessment. Planning a wedding? Sculptra is ideally planned 6 to 12 months ahead: see our wedding page.

Financing

Sculptra is done over several sessions: financing through Beautifi, subject to approval, lets you split the cost of your plan into monthly payments.
