The starting point

At the start, the lower face was soft and undefined. The jawline lacked width at the back, and the chin sat short, with rounded corners. Nothing unusual, but together it gave a softer profile than he wanted.

What makes a face read as masculine

A face that reads as masculine relies on a few landmarks:

• A wide, straight jawline, with a sharp angle below the ear
• A chin projected forward, square rather than pointed
• Low, flat brows, rather than arched and lifted
