Confessions of an aesthetic nurse

Let's be honest: once you work in medical aesthetics, you never look at a face the same way again. Here are a few confessions, with a sense of humour… and a bit of truth behind each one.

Confession #1: I look at people's skin texture at the grocery store

Occupational hazard! Pores, grain and glow say a lot about hydration and collagen. The good news: texture is one of the things that improves best, with skin boosters or microneedling.

Confession #2: I can tell which side you sleep on from small asymmetries in your face
Confession #2: I can tell which side you sleep on from small asymmetries in your face

Most of us sleep on the same side night after night, and pillow pressure can mark one side a little more than the other. Nobody is perfectly symmetrical, and that's normal. Still, a small, well-placed touch of filler can gently restore balance.

Confession #3: when someone tells me "I haven't done anything," I know

A good result is one nobody notices: you look rested, not "done." And your file stays confidential. Always.

Confession #4: at family dinners, I do consultations in my head

I promise I don't hand out unsolicited advice between courses. But if you ask me over dessert… the consultation is free.

Confession #5: when someone laughs really hard, I think about their crow's feet

Crow's feet are the traces of good times. We can soften them without ever erasing your smile. All about crow's feet.

Confession #6: my mom texts me photos of her forehead

Forehead lines are often the first ones you notice in the mirror, or in a photo taken a little too close. If this sounds familiar (moms included), let's talk: forehead lines.

My last confession: I love my job

My last confession, and the truest one: I love my job. Helping someone feel better in their own skin, without looking "done," is what gets me up in the morning. More confessions are coming.
